Ocean Guardian: Life Below Water

Abstract:

Ocean Guardian is an educational game inspired by Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14): Life Below Water, focusing on marine protection. The game visually represents the real-world challenges of ocean pollution, where failure to eliminate debris results in game over. 

Introduction

Despite global efforts to address environmental issues, ocean pollution remains a significant challenge, affecting marine ecosystems and biodiversity. Ocean Guardian aims to engage players in a fun and interactive way while educating them about the impact of pollution on marine life. The game combines elements of action and strategy, encouraging players to think critically about their role in protecting the ocean.

The primary objective of Ocean Guardian is to protect the ocean environment by preventing trash from reaching the seabed. Players must shoot down falling debris and collect special stars to upgrade the octopus's abilities, turning trash into marine life and keeping the sea clean. The challenge is to maintain a pollution-free ocean for one full minute.
